Holiday Home Description
The luxury holiday home 17 Wharf Street Port Douglas sits proudly next to the Rex Smeal Park where the famous Port Douglas Markets are held every Sunday. The house hidden down a slightly curved driveway with fully grown tropical palms and foliage to add to the mystery. As you approach the holiday house the first thing you will see is the care takers residence perched over the double garage but far enough away from the house to ensure your total privacy is maintained whilst in residence.
As you alight from your car you walk across huge slabs of hand cut slate and onto a timber bridge thru rainforest lined pavilions to the gate house entrance with a unique custom made handcrafted Iron Gate that leads you to the formal entry.
Once inside the holiday house you will be shown how to key in the security system code and how to function the C-Bus system which lights the holiday house and sets the mood lighting in all of the pavilions and zones and sets the air conditioning systems before you fully enter.
This luxury Port Douglas holiday house was designed to blend in with its tropical environment and the use of the five elements of wood fire metal earth and water give it that solid earthy feel as though it should really exist here in this environment up high in the trees overlooking the natural beauty of the ocean and the mountains that surround.
The holiday home sits on a two level elevated solid concrete slab and constructed from the finest hard woods and fittings available.
On the entry level of 17 Wharf Street Port Douglas to the left is a powder room and next door is a large twin bed room with built in cupboards for a home office along with facsimile machine a colour printer and everything else you require to keep in touch with your company business back home. This bedroom is approximately 5meters by 4 meters and fully air-conditioned with terracotta floors and warm solid timber lined walls.
Next is the open plan designer kitchen that any Michelin rated Chef would be pleased to work in as every single implement they would desire to make a gourmet meal is provided here.
There is a double refrigerator with an ice maker and a bar fridge hidden inside matching cupboards, a granite breakfast table and breakfast bar. Gas cook tops coffee machine, double sink, and dishwasher of course and views to the parks and gardens any cook would be more than pleased with.
Just off the kitchen to the right in a zone of its own is the formal lounge room which measures around 7 meters by 7 meters with glass all around to bring in the views, with built in buffet cabinets and bench tops, a huge digital plasma television with all the gadgets you require, solid timber furniture and comfortable leather chairs that you just sink into.
This formal lounge room leads out to the most popular part of the Port Douglas holiday house which is an entertaining pavilion with a dining table and chairs for eight and a barbeque that is surrounded by an infinity edge swimming pool with a timber bridge leading you to this sanctuary. A perfect place for meals out in the fresh air overlooking the pool, ocean and mountains with music and mood lighting to match the ambience. At night this is definitely the most popular part of the Port Douglas holiday house as you can swim in the wet edge pool with dimmed lights and the gas lit fire burners that line the front of the pool and across the beach and the mood lighting and music inside the pavilion is enough to make you never want to leave this luxury holiday home.
To the left is the master bedroom and what a master bedroom is this? A huge built in movie screen and projector with a Bose surround sound system at the foot of the bed with all the electrical gadgets you require and a huge wardrobe concealed behind the screen and built in cupboards complete with laundry cabinets and shoe racks.
The bathroom has a long benched wall with double basins and a toilet to one side and a double shower concealed on the other side and towels rails that can warm or dry your towels.
From the master bedroom you have floor to ceiling glass fold back doors that lead to your private balcony with sun beds for two and a glass gate leads you into the infinity edge swimming pool. This room is approximately 8 meters by 9 meters.
Down the solid timber staircase you pass the floor to ceiling glass windows that look out to the manicured gardens with rock features of perfectly placed river pebbles and you enter the children or guests zone. A huge lounge and entertainment area complete with a wet area in solid granite with a mini bar fridge leads to a private out door patio thru the full floor to ceiling retractable glass doors with dining table and chairs for six in amongst the lush gardens. Again a huge plasma with all the electrical equipment you could want for is here and an ideal area for the children to entertain friends or have time out from the parents. Comfortable lounging couches, solid timber tables and cupboards and movies and books galore. Some even feature the famous movie stars that have stayed in this holiday house whilst making movies in the Port Douglas region.
There is a laundry shute from upstairs to the designer laundry that has hanging space, granite bench tops and plenty of room for the maid to iron and fold the clothes.
The first bedroom downstairs has a king size bed, a full size bath, separate shower, double vanity and separate toilet.
This room also has bi-fold doors that lead to a private patio in the garden, and has a wall mounted plasma and is of course air-conditioned. Built in cupboards and plenty of space for you to play on your computer and catch up on work or friends.
The second bedroom downstairs is on the ocean side and has a private balcony and steps leading to the beach and gardens which are subtly lit at night time. Again all the luxuries that the rest of this Port Douglas holiday home has to offer such as a mounted television, wireless access, air conditioning and ensuite bathroom. This bedroom is approximately 6 meters by 6 meters.
