Silky Oaks Lodge provides two luxurious styles of accommodation: the Riverhouse or the Treehouse.

The Riverhouse is ideal for guests who are seeking the tranquillity of cascading crystal clear water flowing right by their room. The Riverhouse provides spectacular views of the Daintree Rainforest, and if you watch closely from your large private verandah you may spot some of the unique wildlife typical to the area such as Musky Rat Kangaroos, Bandicoots, Sugar Gliders or the beautiful bright blue and black Ulysses Butterfly.

The Riverhouse is spacious, elegantly appointed Rainforest accommodation that has been designed to seamlessly integrate and harmonize with the natural environment. These rooms feature polished timber floors throughout, stylish interiors, an oversized spa bath and uninterrupted rainforest views. Each Riverhouse features a cosy King sized bed (or two twin beds available on request). Guests enjoy a complimentary premium sparkling wine and deluxe tropical fruit basket in their room on arrival. The Treehouse Rainforest accommodation offered at Silky Oaks Lodge is perfect for guests who really want to reconnect with nature. Nestled amongst the exotic Rainforest the Treehouses offer the ultimate in seclusion and privacy. They are beautifully appointed, with timber floors throughout. Enjoy the sensational views from the floor to ceiling glass door that leads out onto a wide verandah where you can relax in a hammock and enjoy the utter tranquillity. Alternatively, why not relax in your luscious day bed or “Sala”…the epitome of relaxation and escape.

The Daintree Rainforest boasts over four hundred and thirty species of birds (with thirteen of them found nowhere else in the world). See how many varieties you can spot from your delightful Treehouse verandah. This is the perfect place to get away from it all and televisions are not provided to so you can really escape from the hectic hurried outside world. The Treehouses feature a King sized bed (two twin beds are available on request). There is also the option of the Triple Treehouse which features a King sized bed and a sofa bed suitable for one. The Treehouse Restaurant is a definite highlight of The Cape Tribulation Silky Oaks Lodge. This open sided restaurant provides spectacular views of the tropical rainforest and river as you enjoy a divine epicurean adventure. Begin your day with a sumptuous hot buffet breakfast, relax with a mouth-watering lunch or enjoy the simple elegance of the nightly a la carte menu. The menu changes seasonally however some examples of the divine cuisine on offer includes ‘five spice kangaroo fillet with herb and Dijon spatzel and beetroot chutney’ or ‘braised quail with pickled red cabbage and ginger dressing’ or one delectable desserts such as the ‘chocolate and black sapote devils with coconut ice cream’. For a unique ceremony experience, you can exchange your vows along the Mossman River on the edge of the Daintree Rainforest. Alternatively, you may wish to take advantage of the superb intimate location of the Jungle Perch, or for larger groups the Daintree Pavilion, both overlooking the Mossman River.

SILKY BEACH BILLABONG - The Silky Beach Billabong is a most beautiful serene natural river lagoon with its own sandy beach and just beyond Riverhouse 14.

JUNGLE PERCH - Set high above the Mossman River, this beautiful location looks down over the rapids of the flowing river and into the canopy of the lush rainforest. An octagonal shaped area made of timber, the jungle perch is a stunning setting for your ceremony.

THE RIVERBANK - The Riverbank area is a gorgeous place for your wedding ceremony. On the banks of the Mossman River is a large sandy area among the most tranquil surrounds. You can make your entrance from two directions; take the stairs down from the Lodge to the riverbank, your guests will be looking up at you, or take the winding path that leads you along the riverbank.

Reception Sites

DAINTREE PAVILLION - The Daintree Pavilion is an exclusive area set next to the main Lodge and away from the other guests. It is set high above and overlooking the Mossman river, with no enclosed walls, surrounded just by the rainforest canopy.

JUNGLE PERCH - The Jungle Perch is great for a smaller intimate wedding, dinner or lunch, set away from the other guests in the restaurant. In the evening the river below is lit by a floodlight and is absolutely spectacular.

THE RIVERBANK - The Riverbank area below the Lodge is wonderful for weddings of any size. On the banks of the Mossman River is a large sandy area where you can celebrate your marriage with your family and friends. The area also comprises a bar area and a stage for entertainment. You will dine under a canopy of the rainforest, surrounded by flame torches, candles and the sounds of the flowing river.
