It is now is the main venue of weddings in Port Douglas and an iconic landmark. The Port Douglas Pioneer Cemetery is also worth a visit that houses the first headstone of a 21 year old cedar getter who died in 1878 and a murdered Billy Thomson “Who met his death by cruel and treacherous murder”.  The Douglas Shire Historical Society can provide information on points of interest and information on the town.
