Not only is Port Douglas the number one destination wedding choice of Tropical North Queensland in Australia with brides from both Australia and from around the world but it is also the most researched destination for honeymoons and adult only weekend getaways and extended package holidays.

Things To Do In Port Douglas

The entertainment in Port Douglas for a romantic getaway is varied as it depends if you wish to just hideaway in your adults only resort accommodation or get out and about to the local bars and restaurants and whether or not you like to hang out at the local pub scene and listen to a band or get involved in the toad races at the Iron Bar.

Hemmingway’s Brewery is a good place to go and try out some local craft beer (with some funny names) and just like wine match your beer choices with some food choices. Hemmingway’s Gastro Brewpub is also a great place to consider for a wedding celebration too as they have a function room upstairs overlooking the Port Douglas marina.

The Courthouse Hotel always has some live entertainment to keep you moving along with a good pub menu.

As a couple it’s nice to have some relaxation time and a spa treatment ticks all the boxes for a total togetherness treat, and Port Douglas has some really nice destination spa resorts perfect for a romantic holiday and some body pampering. 

Sundowner drinks are a big thing in Port Douglas as in the afternoon the sky lights up with a dazzling display of colour as the sun sets down behind the rainforest mountains over the Great Barrier Reef so the locals and visitors hit the waterfront bars and restaurants to sit and enjoy a cool refreshment and watch the talents of Mother Nature in the sky.
