4. The balmy weather

Port Douglas has warm, tropical weather all year round.  This means guests can swim and enjoy the glorious sunshine and outdoors at any time of the year. There are two seasons in Cairns, the tropical summer and the tropical winter. The tropical summer is between the months December to April.  It is also known as the wet or green season - when the Rainforest is in it's element!  Generally, Port Douglas is quieter during this season so it is a great time to visit and avoid the rush! 

Summer is a spectacular time of year in Port Douglas, with warm sunny days and afternoon thunderstorms. The tropical winter or dry season is between the months May to November.  This is typically a busier time of year in Port Douglas with alot more visitors to the region. There is less rain and less humidity during winter, but the climate is still warm enough to enjoy the outdoors!
