The Avenue of the Arts is a new event and offers art exhibitions, art workshops from traditional to contemporary, performing arts, photography, writing, poetry and the artistry of orchid growing!

23 - 31 May - Douglas Photographic Society Exhibition from 10am to 4pm at the Port Douglas Community Centre
Photos from around the region and a Carnivale 21st birthday archive exhibition
23 - 31 May - Douglas Arts Base (DAB) traditional art exhibition held at the Clink Theatre, open 10am to 4pm
Daily - Mossman Gorge Art Gallery will feature a special indigenous art and artists range of diverse traditional artwork and sculpture
26 - 28 May - The Douglas Orchid Society will have a three day display of orchids and tropical flowers located at the Port Douglas Community Centre.
Plants and flowers will also be available for sale. Members help propatate rate and endangered orchids endemic to the tropics.
Meet the Authors - At the Avenue of the Arts a special marquee will feature local authors through out the week to showcase their works to enjoy and purchase. A great opportunity to chat with the authors, enjoy poetry readings and literary workshops. afternoon/morning tea available.
