Recent Refurbishment Shantara was opened in September 2007 and has just completed a soft Refurbishment (January 2011) including all new bed linen, art work and modern modular lounges, this ensures that the apartments are kept of a high standard with up to date and comfortable furnishings.

Shantara holiday resort and spa Port Douglas has a selection of spacious self contained One Bedroom Apartments, Studio Rooms which are perfect for the shorter stay with kitchenettes. All rooms feature outdoor balconies to sit and relax with a cold drink after a day out doing all the sightseeing tours and attractions of Port Douglas. Also on offer Internet access, bathrobes, cable TV, DVDs, safes, quality bathroom amenities and laundry facilities to all apartments and studio rooms.

Studio Rooms are designed for couples or short stay and weekend travellers. These resort rooms have a queen sized bed with plush linens and pillows, a kitchenette with tea and coffee facilities, a microwave, and a bar fridge; a modern bathroom with a shower, a balcony which is furnished. Why not upgrade to the Studio Pooldeck Room located on the ground floor have direct swimming pool access from their private balconies. Oh what luxury to slide off the sunbed and straight into the swimming pool when you feel you need to be refreshed from the suns rays.

One Bedroom Apartments have separate kitchens, living, dining and sleep quarters. These spacious apartments have an open planned design where space and privacy are paramount. The king sized bedroom (with 2nd TV) is separated from the rest of the apartment by Japanese style screens; the luxurious bathroom has a double spa bath and a separate shower. The kitchens have a microwave, stove top, refrigerator and dishwasher and the furnished balconies have beautiful swimming pool views or upgrade to the One Bedroom Pooldeck with private swimming pool access.

Shantara Apartment Located on the corner, these apartments feature the same facilities as the one Bedroom Apartments, and include extras of a private outdoor jacuzzi located in the courtyard surrounded by gardens and out from the balcony is a pool deck for direct access to the pool. The apartments have separate kitchens, living, dining and sleep quarters. These spacious apartments have an open planned design where space and privacy are paramount. The queen sized bedroom is separated from the rest of the apartment by Japanese style screens; the luxurious bathroom has a double spa bath and a separate shower. The kitchens have a microwave, stove top, refrigerator and dishwasher and furnished balcony. There are only four Shantara style apartments so book early as they will sell out fast!

If you prefer a two bedroom apartment, please ensure to ask us for quote. We do have a limited number of apartments that can be dual key to provide two bedroom apartments.
There are 27 dual key apartments at Shantara Resort Port Douglas; each apartment features large living areas and premium fixtures and fittings. These apartments are great for couples, dual couples and groups; the flexibility of the dual key design caters for holidaymakers of all types. Each apartment is fully air conditioned, has a furnished balcony and is bright and airy.

Shantara Resort and Spa Port Douglas offers guests two free form lagoon swimming pools and each room looks out onto the swimming pool, one of which is heated in the cooler months. Ground level rooms (Pool Deck Rooms) have direct swimming pool access where you can slip into the swimming pool waters you’re your private veranda. Throughout the resort there are colourful tropical gardens, water features and lovely potted plants and palms. The lagoon swimming pools are surrounded by a casual sun deck spotted with lounges with the perfect blend of sunlight and shade. There is a communal guest barbeque area in the centre of the spa resort; the barbeque area is a great place to enjoy drinks and food with friends and family while meeting other like minded travellers staying at Shantara Resort and Spa Port Douglas.

All Pool Deck studio rooms and holiday apartments have direct pool access from their individual pontoons and four of the apartments (Shantara Apartments) have private courtyards with their very own outdoor Jacuzzi Spa.

Shantara Resort Port Douglas is located on Davidson Street on the luxury resort strip of Port Douglas. Shantara Resort is 2 minutes outside the heart of Port Douglas and 50 minutes north of Cairns. Don’t forget to book your Spa treatment time with us when making your accommodation booking to ensure you do not miss out!
