The fight to save the rainforests of Cape Tribulation came on the world’s radar in 1983 when protestors chained themselves to trees and dug themselves into holes in the ground to stop the bulldozers from destroying the region forever. Thankfully they were successful in their stance and the Federal Government finally made Cape Tribulation a protected region and listed it as a World Heritage icon so that today we all get to appreciate it and prosper from its medicines and water that it provides.
