Quicksilver Snorkeling On The Outer Barrier Reef

Australia's Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and one of those tours or must do and see things that people put on their travel lists or bucket lists to do one day.

And considering your family and friends have all traveled a great distance to attend your Port Douglas wedding they are sure to want to spend a day snorkeling or scuba diving on the outer barrier reef to see all the fish and coral and maybe even whales during the migration season of June to September.

As a number of your wedding guests may be children or elderly people you need to think of activities that everyone can enjoy together so going out to the spend the day on the reef is best done on an outer barrier reef pontoon or platform which is permanently moored on the Agincourt Ribbon Reefs.

The platform has relaxation areas with tables and chairs, bathrooms and shower facilities, lots of shady lounging areas, dining facilities and much more.

The underwater and above water activities have been designed to ensure everyone gets to see and enjoy the Great Barrier Reef even if they are not swimmers. During the day guests can ride around in the glass bottom boats or semi-submersible submarine and see all the fish, coral and scuba divers without even getting their hair wet. There is also an underwater observatory that guests can visit during the day to watch all of the underwater activities. Fish feeding presentations are conducted on the back of the platform and a marine biologist gives you some great information on the fish and the Great Barrier Reef.

For the more adventurous you can snorkel around till your heart is content or you can scuba dive or even do some Helmet diving where you walk along an underwater platform with fresh air coming into your Helmet from above and you will not even get your hair wet here either and you can even keep your glasses on.
